Job Description:
- Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility.
- Operating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, preventative maintenance technology tools, etc.
- Utilizing and working with maintenance trades and components such as electrical, welding, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
- Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
A Typical Work Day May Include:
- Performing routine machinery maintenance.
- Pipe fitting, welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning new equipment and general facility maintenance.
- Modifying or building equipment by reading and comprehending electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals.
- Documenting completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary.
- Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment.
- Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Dismantling machines and removing parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- Setting up and operating machines, and adjusting controls to regulate operations.
- Determining changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabricating repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Conserving maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Providing mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Proficient in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Equipped for routine electrical system upkeep, minor repairs, and diagnostic testing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
- Accuracy in task completion and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts with advance notice.
- Must be over the age of 18
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Equipment maintenance and installation skills.
- Troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to monitor processes.
- Complex problem-solving skills.
- Ability to order parts, supplies, or equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a machine/Fab shop
- General knowledge of PEDDINGHAUS Equipment is a plus.
- Flexible to work overtime, off-hours, and holidays
