Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our accounting team, oversee client engagements, and provide high-level advisory services to business owners.
This role is heavily focused on people management, quality control, and strategic insight—not just technical execution. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in US GAAP, US tax, and international tax/accounting considerations and is comfortable working directly with clients as a trusted advisor.
This is a fully remote position working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management (Primary Focus)
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff (bookkeepers, senior accountants, etc.)
- Review work for accuracy across bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax deliverables
- Establish and improve workflows, processes, and internal controls
- Ensure deadlines and client deliverables are consistently met
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for business owners
- Provide strategic guidance on cash flow, profitability, and tax positioning
- Lead client meetings and present financial reports with clarity and confidence
Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure financial statements comply with US GAAP
- Review complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
Tax & Compliance Awareness
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of US tax compliance and planning strategies
- Understand international tax considerations (foreign entities, reporting, etc.)
- Collaborate with tax teams to ensure alignment between accounting and tax strategy
Process Improvement & Strategy
- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
- Support leadership with financial insights and operational improvements
- Assist in building systems to support firm growth and client scalability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- Active US CPA license preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or advisory firm preferred)
- Proven experience managing and leading a team
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and US tax fundamentals
- Exposure to international accounting/tax concepts is highly preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
