The Inventory Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling inventory activities to ensure the accurate flow of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing operation. This role maintains inventory accuracy, supports production requirements, minimizes inventory costs, and ensures material availability to meet customer and production demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Control
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate system records.
Production Support
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory requirements to support manufacturing schedules.
- Identify potential shortages and proactively implement solutions.
- Support new product launches and inventory planning activities.
Warehouse and Material Management
- Oversee receiving, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Ensure proper inventory handling and storage practices.
- Manage obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization and inventory organization.
Systems and Reporting
- Maintain accurate inventory data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Generate inventory reports and analyze inventory trends.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and stockout occurrences.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures related to inventory management.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in cross-functional teams focused on operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 3–5 years of inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control systems and ERP/MRP software.
- Experience conducting cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material flow processes.

Position Objective
The Inventory Manager ensures the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantities, while maintaining high inventory accuracy and controlling costs to support efficient manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
