Job Summary
The HR Assistant/Payroll supports payroll processing and HR operations with a primary focus on utilizing ADP systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role assists with employee data management, compliance, and HR support activities while maintaining strict confidentiality and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and validate timekeeping data within ADP; investigate and resolve discrepancies with supervisors.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, direct deposits, and tax withholdings in ADP.
- Assist with new hire onboarding in ADP, including employee data entry, tax forms, and direct deposit setup.
- Process employee status changes (pay rate changes, promotions, terminations) within ADP.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including proper tax setup in ADP.
- Generate payroll reports from ADP (e.g., payroll summaries, audit reports, labor reports).
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.
- Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, etc.
- Support benefits administration within ADP, including enrollments, changes, and deductions.
- Assist with audits and reporting to ensure compliance and proper documentation.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of payroll or HR experience, with hands-on experience using ADP systems.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now including reporting tools and analytics.
- Working knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, wage and hour laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including basic formulas and data review).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing, supporting audits and compliance reporting.
