Kansas City Physicians Partners has a full-time opening for a Certified Medical Assistant!
Would you like to have evenings, weekends & many holidays off? Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:45 AM-5 PM, working primarily floating to various locations as needed to meet business needs. In this role, the employee will:
- Assist with patient intake, EHR documentation, field phone calls/voicemails, provide lab/test results, schedule/fill medication orders & process refill requests
- Monitor & maintain injection schedule & administer medications by intramuscular, subcutaneous & intradermal routes
- Administer allergy injections & perform allergen skin testing, pulmonary function testing & Niox testing
- Assist with phlebotomy, shot clinic & cover for other MA's as needed
- Clean/restock exam rooms & unpack/distribute medical supplies/drugs
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and successful completion of Medical Assistant program required; current Medical Assisting certification/registration required; current CPR or BLS certification required; strong phlebotomy skills required; 2+ years experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow processes/procedures & carry out detailed written or oral multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience using Microsoft Office software, email & internet; and have the ability to learn new systems/software relevant to the job. Experience maintaining Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, sit, stand, reach, twist, push/pull, carry, lift & use fingers/hands/wrists to handle, control, & feel objects/tools/controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds & be able to safely support partial & full weight of a patient if necessary. The employee must be able to operate computer, phone & other equipment & frequently communicate & exchange accurate information in person, as well as on the phone & computer. This job requires the ability to see details at close & far distances & the ability to hear & distinguish the difference between sounds.
