Shenandoah Autism Center has one full time teacher assistant position available immediately, working with students with autism and other disabilities. This is a school year position only and includes a 3 week summer school session. Must be organized, dependable, and committed to students to work full school year. Minimum qualifications are Associate's degree or higher/ or para pro certification. Must be able to passa criminal background check
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds
Performance Responsibilities:
- Carry out instructional activities
- Maintain classroom management policies
- Assist with toileting, feeding, cleaning, and positioning of students
- Assist is medical related duties
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and keep materials, supplies, and skills up to date
- Participate in professional development activities
- Candidates must possess good moral character
- Promote a positive attitude in daily communications with students and all school employees
- Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance
- Communicate effectively
- Practice confidentiality of all work related matters
- Follow established school board policies and regulations
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by Administration
