Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful recreational programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in activity planning, senior care, and therapeutic activities tailored to individuals with diverse needs such as dementia and Alzheimer's. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact by fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being among our residents.
Duties
- Plan, develop, and implement a variety of recreational activities that cater to residents’ interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-specific programs.
- Coordinate schedules for daily events, outings, and special occasions to ensure smooth operation and maximum participation.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to assess residents’ needs and preferences, adapting activities accordingly.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities that support cognitive function, social engagement, and physical health for seniors with disabilities or aging issues.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Manage activity supplies and resources efficiently while ensuring safety standards are upheld during all events.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages social interaction, independence, and emotional well-being among residents.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, recreational therapy, and senior care best practices.
- Prior experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities is essential.
- Strong communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop innovative programs tailored to diverse resident needs while managing multiple schedules efficiently.
- Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities such as assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and aging issues counseling is advantageous.
- A background in social work or geriatric therapy enhances suitability for this role.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
