What You’ll Do
As a Warehouse Assistant, you'll play a vital role in keeping operations moving efficiently and safely:
Shipping & Receiving (Primary Focus – 75%)
- Execute all shipping and receiving functions following established procedures
- Unload incoming shipments, break down pallets, and verify product weights
- Accurately process documentation (receiving reports, bills of lading, etc.)
- Stage inbound and outbound products safely and efficiently
- Inspect shipments for damages or discrepancies and report findings
- Maintain accurate warehouse location tracking and reporting
- Prepare outbound shipments, including documentation and loading
- Coordinate with transportation teams to meet shipping deadlines
Operations & Inventory (25%)
- Support material handling activities to ensure on-time flow of goods
- Monitor and manage aged inventory in collaboration with internal teams
- Operate yard truck (if trained) to move trailers and manage yard traffic
- Contribute to Lean, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
Team Contribution
- Follow all company standards, safety guidelines, and operational procedures
- Support team objectives and assist with additional responsibilities as needed
What You BringRequired Qualifications
- 2+ years of warehouse experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to operate or become certified on warehouse equipment (forklift, yard truck)
- Basic math skills (decimals, percentages, measurements, etc.)
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and warehouse software
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of shipping & receiving experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Key Skills for Success
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability in a fast-changing environment
