Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing components for daily specials and regular offerings
- Handle food with care, following proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Support cooking activities by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas throughout shifts
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and portioning in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and timely meal preparation
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not mandatory
- Kitchen or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety standards, including proper handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
