The Senior Audit Accountant will work closely with managers and partners in our Mineral Point office to help support our clients and assist in performing audits for local governments and non-profits in and around Mineral Point, Wisconsin. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop professionally in both nonprofit and governmental auditing.
Primary responsibilities for this position will include:

Manage audit, review and compilation areas in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by supervisor

Coordinate scheduling and workflow of assigned engagements while considering the staffing needs of other Senior Accountants and Supervisors

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision, while still meeting deadlines and time budgets
-
Ensure engagement work is completed timely by staff, and within assigned time budgets
-
Mentor and train entry-level staff and interns by providing guidance and serving as a professional role model
-
Prepare and manage monthly client billings in a timely manner
-
Prepare correspondence to the client for the approval and signature of a Shareholder or Manager
-
Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the WICPA
-
Stay current on all professional pronouncements, such as FAS, SAS, GAAS. Participating in continuing professional education
-
Represent the firm and promote its image at a variety of events including, but not limited to: networking events, vendor conferences, client events and at college career fairs

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
-
3+ years prior public accounting experience in auditing preferred
-
CPA certification is desired, but not required
-
Excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards
-
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
-
Commitment to quality and timely completion of work

Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and various tax and accounting software including CCH products, QuickBooks products, and research tools

Valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance
