We are looking for a BIM Modeler/Detailer to produce detailed electrical BIM models and construction drawings for commercial healthcare and institutional projects in an electrical subcontractor environment. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client that delivers large-scale commercial electrical projects requiring precise coordination between field and design teams. This is a hands-on production role responsible for creating accurate, clash-free models that support efficient installation and project execution. Your work will directly contribute to minimizing field conflicts, improving productivity, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed electrical BIM models for commercial healthcare and institutional construction projects.

Produce coordinated installation drawings, shop drawings, and prefabrication drawings from contract documents.

Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues with other trades using BIM coordination software.

Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure models accurately reflect project requirements.

Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and VDC teams to incorporate design revisions and field changes.

Generate layout drawings, sleeve drawings, hanger drawings, and installation details to support field operations.

Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors, engineers, architects, and trade partners.

Maintain model accuracy throughout all phases of construction and support as-built documentation.

Ensure BIM standards, modeling practices, and project deadlines are consistently met.
Requirements

3+ years of experience as an Electrical BIM Modeler, BIM Detailer, or VDC Designer in commercial construction.
- Experience modeling commercial electrical systems for healthcare, institutional, or other large commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, conduit routing, equipment layouts, and installation sequencing.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience performing clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience in drafting, BIM, or electrical design preferred.
- Commercial electrical experience is required; residential-only BIM experience will not be sufficient.
