ROLE DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a Carpenter/Welder to join our fabrication team on a full-time basis and help bring creative event concepts to life. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Print, Art, Warehouse and Sales teams to build custom pieces ranging from walls and bars to display fixtures and unique event props. If you love solving problems with your hands, meeting fast-paced deadlines, and working with a wide range of materials (wood, acrylic, metal), this role is for you.
- REPORTING STRUCTURE: Fabrication Supervisor
- LOCATION: 100% in-person; our warehouse is located at 800 Interchange Blvd, Suite 108, Austin, Texas 78721
- EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract to Hire Full-Time
- COMPENSATION: Hourly starting at $25/hour; Strong currently pays out weekly from Friday - Thursday hours
- LANGUAGES: English and nice to have Spanish
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of professional work experience
- At least 1 year in a warehouse or production environment
- Ideally 1+ year of fabrication, theater production, or carpentry experience
- Ability to work on-site Monday–Friday, with weekend availability during peak seasons (Feb–May, Sept–mid Dec)
- Positive attitude, proactive problem-solver, and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Proficiency with Miter saw, CNC machine, welding, nail gun, Google Suite; Trello/Slack experience a plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fabrication & Production
- Build custom event pieces using wood, acrylic, metal, and other materials
- Ensure all custom builds and prints are completed on time—goal: 2 days before load-in
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
- Introduce new fabrication techniques, tools, or materials that enhance efficiency and/or creativity
Collaboration & Communication
- Work cross-functionally with Art, Print, Sales, and Warehouse teams
- Update digital documents and communicate progress clearly
- Use company-provided login to log work, track tasks, and review build plans
- Software familiarity (nice to have): IntelliEvent, Slack, Google Slides
SR CARPENTER QUALIFICATIONS (when applicable)
- Proven ability to manage 8+ projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Confident communicating resource needs and/or challenges to leadership
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to workflow or client-facing quality
