Position Summary
Lincoln Electric Product Co. Inc. is seeking a motivated, dedicated, dynamic QC Inspector/Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electrical distribution switchboards. You will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, conducting in-process quality checks, and performing final product testing. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help maintain our high standards.
This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the QC Supervisor.
Working Conditions: Office/ Manufacturing Floor Environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming materials, components, and assemblies against specifications, engineering drawings, and purchase orders.
- Conduct thorough visual inspections, dimensional checks, and functional tests on electrical components.
- Inspect and verify the quality of incoming documentation, such as test reports and certificates of compliance.
- Document inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances, and report to the Quality Manager.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Inspect wiring, connections, and terminations for accuracy, security, and compliance with electrical codes and wiring diagrams.
- Verify the correct installation of components and assemblies.
- Conduct functional tests on subassemblies, including voltage and current measurements, insulation resistance tests, and operational checks.
- Identify and document any deviations or non-conformances and take immediate corrective action.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of completed switchboards to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance, and other performance parameters using appropriate testing equipment.
- Conduct functional tests to ensure proper operation of all control and protection functions.
- Inspect product labeling, wiring diagrams, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and document any non-conformances and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records, including inspection reports, test data sheets, and non-conformance reports.
- Complete required quality reports and documentation, such as inspection reports, quality control plans, and process control charts.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection checklists.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities to identify and eliminate quality problems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to implement corrective actions and prevent future quality issues.
- Participate in quality audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
Skills, Requirements, and Specifications
- 4+ years of quality control experience, preferably in the electrical switchboard or related manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in quality systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical components, circuits, and switchboard assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., megger, multimeter, oscilloscope).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience with industry standards and codes (e.g., UL,NEC, IEC).
- May involve travel to suppliers, customers, or other manufacturing locations
- In-depth knowledge of switchboard manufacturing processes, components, and testing standards.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and protocols.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Trade school diploma in electrical technology or related field.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma certification preferred.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
