This role supports a high-volume commercial fleet operation focusing on tank trailers, vessels and diesel engines . The mechanic will perform maintenance on Scully systems and vessel components which involve hazmat safety, and DOT strict compliance. They will also perform preventative maintenance, electrical diagnostics, and routine inspections across commercial engines and tank equipment.
Diesel Mechanic Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Operate and interpret OEM diagnostic software such as Cummins, Detroit, etc,..
- Maintain Scully systems, which include overfill protection systems
- Maintain pressure/vacuum systems on vessels
- Maintain vapor recovery components
- Understanding of tank standards- DOT/MC
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair activities
- Must have own tools
- Minimum of 3 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
Diesel Mechanic Preferred Requirements:
- Dealership certifications with Navistar, Cummins, Mack, Volvo or Hino
- Brake Certification
- A/C Certification
- Diesel technology degree or related technical training
- CDL A (Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement) a strong plus

Pay rate: $28.00 to $40.00 per hour
