Position: Building Substitute Teacher
School: Horizon Science Academy Richfield, MN
Horizon Science Academy is a K-8public charter school located in Richfield, Minnesota. HSA is searching for a Building Substitute Teacher. This position commences with the 2025-26 school year.
The Building Substitute is a full-time position. They receive a salary and benefits for the whole academic year.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher
- Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher
- Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours
- Maintain a positive learning environment
- Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher
- Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid MN elementary teaching license (preferred, not mandatory)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Willingness to work with students with unique backgrounds and skills
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
