Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent disease and promote oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental x-rays using digital imaging tools.
- Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, oral hygiene practices, and preventive strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with chairside procedures in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth workflow during four-handed dentistry sessions.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient visits and treatment plans.
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients, fostering trust and comfort throughout their visit.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation review.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures and digital imaging equipment; understanding of X-ray safety protocols is essential.
- Expertise in infection control management, including healthcare infection prevention standards and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
