Come join our amazing staff at a local homeschool co-op- EPIC Homeschool Academy. This is a one-day-a-week program servicing area homeschool students near Caledonia, MI.
Instructors provide in-person class experiences and instructions and then assign further work or projects for students to continue at home throughout the week. Instructors at EPIC act as mentors through the learning process, equipping parents to continue guiding the content at home. Classes typically cap at 14-18 students. EPIC Academy teaches and directs all experiences through the lens of a Protestant, Christian worldview. Faith-based learning and modeling from mentor/coach teachers is critical.
We are looking for an elementary language arts instructor who can teach a 2/3rd grade literature workshop and a 4/5th grade writing workshop class on Monday mornings (2 separate classes, 1 hour each). Instructors are provided with an EPIC-created curriculum, but can also use their own resources to create hands-on and creative experiences to teach content and prepare weekly homework and projects for students to complete at home throughout the week.
Compensation is $80 per instructional hour. Instructors should have training/degree in area or unique content area expertise. Experience in multi-age and differentiated learning, use of technology in the classroom, and creative project-based learning preferred. This scenario is perfect for those passionate about teaching and science, but who desire more flexible and limited hours.
