Set up home ventilators on your own schedule. Get paid per job, not per hour.
CalOx is a home respiratory and durable medical equipment provider serving oxygen and ventilator patients across Northern Arizona. We're building a bench of licensed respiratory therapists to handle non-invasive ventilator setups and monthly patient follow-ups in the communities where they already live.
This is per diem contract work. You accept the assignments you want and decline the ones you don't — no minimum, no shifts, no on-call rotation. Most of our Respiratory Therapists do this around a hospital schedule.
What you'd be doing
- Same-day and next-day non-invasive ventilator setups in patients' homes — assembly, configuration to the physician order, alarm verification, and patient and caregiver teaching
- Monthly follow-up visits for vent patients: clinical assessment, device download and utilization review, settings verification, circuit and accessory change-out, caregiver re-education
- Troubleshooting alarms, leak, synchrony, and interface problems
- Reviewing the emergency and backup power plan with the family
- Completing setup and clinical documentation in our system (within 24 hours for setups, 48 for visits).
What it pays
- $200 per month retainer
- $250 per completed ventilator setup
- $150 per completed patient visit
- $75 plus full travel allowance if you make the drive and the patient no-shows or the order isn't valid
- +$50 setup / +$25 visit for evenings after 7pm, weekends, and holidays
Travel allowance, paid once per trip on top of the service fee, based on one-way distance from your home:
Up to 50 miles - Included in the service fee
51–100 miles - $40
101–150 miles - $80
151–200 miles - $120
Over 200 miles - $160
What you need
- Active, unrestricted Arizona respiratory care license (Arizona State Board of Respiratory Care Examiners)
- Demonstrated competency, or willingness to complete competency validation, on the ResMed Astral 150, Philips Respironics Trilogy Evo, and Breas Vivo 45
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
- Comfort working independently in patients' homes without a colleague in the next room
- Ability to pass a background check
Helpful, not required
