General Description of Position:
This position is an Electrical Engineering Manager role, with a focus on building services design across commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential projects. The Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising electrical system design projects from the initial planning phase through construction and commissioning. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, an esteemed location. The work environment requires on-site presence and is full-time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, emergency generators, transfer switches, UPS systems, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, security/access control systems, IT/data networks, and building automation systems.
- Preparing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, reports, load calculations, one-line diagrams, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash analyses.
- Coordinating designs with architects, mechanical and structural engineers, contractors, interior designers, clients, and project managers to ensure integrated and code-compliant designs.
- Managing projects through permitting, bidding, budgeting, construction administration, and commissioning phases.
- Conducting site surveys, field investigations, and construction support activities to ensure proper installation and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Reviewing contractor submittals, invoices, schedules, and construction progress while helping resolve field issues.
- Serving as a project engineer or project manager and maintaining project documentation, schedules, and communication.
The role requires strong expertise in:
- Low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Emergency power and standby systems.
- Lighting and low-voltage systems.
- Electrical studies and analysis.
- Industry codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and International Building Code requirements.
- Design software, CADD tools, and project coordination workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7–10 years of related electrical engineering experience.
- PE license preferred, especially a Florida PE.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, project meetings, and field work.
Overall, this is a technical project leadership role focused on electrical building systems design, multidisciplinary coordination, construction support, and project execution within a consulting engineering environment.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
