Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000 per year
About the Role:
The District Manager is the driving force behind consistency and performance across a group of Apollo Bagels stores. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you lead a team of 6-10 General Managers, holding the standard for operations, culture, and financial performance across your district. You're a coach and a strategist, spending time in stores to stay close to the business while also thinking district-wide about how to grow sales, develop leaders, and keep every location running like the best one.
This role requires being present in store five days a week, with a schedule that can start as early as 6 AM. Weekends are a must, along with regular travel between stores across the district and being on-call to support your teams when you're not on-site.
What you'll be doing:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Partner with the Head of Operations to set district goals, forecast performance, and report on trends across your stores
- Act as the key link between store-level execution and company leadership, translating strategy into action across your district
Store Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across 6-10 stores, holding every location to the same standard for quality, cleanliness, and food safety
- Visit stores regularly to coach, catch issues early, and roll out best practices district-wide
- Step in directly when a store needs extra support, whether that's a leadership gap or a new opening
Training & Development:
- Build and refine the onboarding and training programs GMs use to grow their own teams
- Identify GM-ready talent across the district and create real coaching and growth paths for them
People and Culture:
- Hire, manage, and hold your GMs accountable, giving clear and honest feedback through regular one-on-ones and reviews
- Lead with respect and fairness, and make sure every store's culture reflects that standard
Customer Experience:
- Hold every store to the same bar for warm, quick, and respectful guest service
- Use guest feedback and store visits to spot trends and coach GMs on fixes
Financials:
- Own the P&L across your district: sales, labor, COGS, and waste
- Review each store's numbers regularly and partner with GMs on plans to hit targets
- Make sure payroll, timesheets, and cash handling are clean and compliant across every location
Compliance and Facilities:
- Make sure every store stays current on permits, labor rules, and DOH standards
- Oversee facilities and equipment issues, support new store openings, and keep vendor relationships strong
What qualifications you'll bring:
- 3+ years of multi-unit management experience in a high-volume restaurant, cafe, or QSR environment
- Proven track record managing and developing General Managers or store-level leaders
- Strong grasp of P&L management across multiple locations
- Comfortable traveling regularly between stores across the district
- Food safety certification, or willingness to obtain one
- Available for early mornings, weekends, and on-call support as needed
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred!
