J Bar B Foods, a sausage manufacturing company, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse/Forklift Operator. This position supports our food manufacturing operations by receiving and organizing materials, maintaining warehouse areas, operating material-handling equipment, and assisting with inventory control.
Schedule: Approximately 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., up to 50 hours per week
Overtime: May be required
Availability: Some weekends may be required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, unload, verify, count, label, stage, and store incoming materials.
- Retrieve pallets from outside trailers and unload incoming carrier deliveries.
- Safely load and unload warehouse materials.
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.
- Use scanners and complete accurate inventory counts.
- Handle and organize packaging film, labels, boxes, spices, plastic materials, and other production supplies.
- Maintain the warehouse, spice warehouse, spice room, frock room, and label room in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Sweep warehouse areas and restock supplies in the frock room.
- Complete scheduled cleaning of floors, shelves, and walls in designated storage areas.
- Receive and put away supplies as they arrive.
- Deliver copy paper and other supplies to designated areas throughout the plant.
- Assist with return shipments when necessary.
- Follow all company safety, food-safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous warehouse or forklift experience is preferred but not required.
- J Bar B Foods is willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to complete company-required forklift training and receive authorization before independently operating powered equipment.
- Basic reading, counting, scanning, and inventory skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, occasional weekends, and adjusted start times based on production needs.
PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to handle heavier materials weighing up to 90 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment.
- Ability to work in warehouse and loading-dock areas where temperatures may reflect outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally work in refrigerated areas.
- Ability to work safely in an active sausage manufacturing and food-production environment.
