What You’ll Do:
- Monitor and care for patients in post-anesthesia recovery, supporting both pediatric and adult populations
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, providing high-quality patient care across all ages
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe recovery from surgeries and procedures
- Utilize hospital equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and AccuVein to enhance patient safety
- Support patients through all recovery phases: pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II
- Maintain compliance with all safety and clinical protocols, including Epic electronic health record documentation
- Assist in high-volume surgical settings across two floors with diverse procedures
What You Need:
- Valid Louisiana Registered Nurse license or license to practice in the US
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
- 1+ year of PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing experience
- Strong skills in patient assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork
- Ability to adapt to floating and working with pediatric and adult patients
About the Assignment:
This role is based in a prominent hospital in New Orleans, supporting all surgical/procedural populations, excluding critical care services. The unit manages cases across various specialties, with high volumes of pediatric and adult patients. You will be part of a dedicated team providing exceptional post-operative recovery care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
