The Regional Sales Director is a field-first role built around being present in our communities and helping our teams deliver the Calson Management sales experience every day. This person thrives on being in the building — coaching a coordinator before a tour, helping close a deal that has been sitting, greeting a family, or celebrating a move-in. They are equally comfortable working from a community dining room or spare office when not in active sales mode.
Expected Travel: 100% travel required. Communities are grouped into geographic clusters to minimize drive time and maximize time on-site. Lease-up communities and new openings take scheduling priority. The Regional Sales Director day is spent within the Calson Management communities.
Where This Role Focuses
- Own occupancy performance across all communities in the region with particular emphasis on new openings and communities in active lease-up
- Set move-in targets with community-level specificity; track lead velocity, tour conversion, and pipeline health weekly. All leads tracked
- Spend each working day inside communities — conducting or co-conducting tours, coaching coordinators through live interactions, and helping convert qualified prospects
- Every community visit includes a review of tour readiness against Calson standards: model apartment condition, lobby presentation, environmental cleanliness, team greeting behaviors, and the community SOP checklist
- Coordinate with community outreach staff to align the referral pipeline with active conversion opportunities
- Complete and submit a brief written report after each community visit covering sales activity, pipeline status, environment observations, and follow-up items
- Serve as the primary sales coach for community-level sales directors — feedback given in the building in the moment. Comfortable coaching and developing community-level sales staff
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of senior living sales experience, with demonstrated success driving occupancy in assisted living or memory care settings
- Experience with lease-up and new community openings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with California state programs including ALW, Cal-AIM, and PACE — and existing relationships with program case managers and coordinators — is a meaningful differentiator
- Comfortable coaching and developing community-level sales staff
- Proficiency with Welcome Home and Yardi
- Strong communicator with families navigating emotionally complex decisions
- Willing to drive throughout the region daily and spend the workday in communities
- Self-directed and results-oriented — manages their own schedule and holds themselves accountable to census outcomes
