You take pride in operating equipment with skill and precision. You enjoy being in the seat, staying productive, and keeping material moving throughout the yard. You understand that great operators do more than move metal from one place to another. They pay attention to safety, maintain awareness of their surroundings, and understand how their work impacts the entire operation. You like staying busy, learning new skills, and stepping in to help where needed, but your passion is operating equipment and doing it well. If you're someone who enjoys running machinery, working outdoors, and being a key contributor to daily production, this role will fit you well.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Beacon Recycling, you'll primarily operate material handlers, loaders, forklifts, balers, and other processing equipment to support daily yard operations in Grand Rapids and Wyoming. You'll sort and stage materials, load trucks and railcars, assist with processing activities, and help maintain efficient material flow throughout the yard. While equipment operation is the primary focus of the role, you'll also support other operational activities as needed, including material identification, customer unloading assistance, and general yard operations. Success in this role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to operating equipment safely and efficiently.
At Beacon Recycling, we value operators who take ownership of their equipment, work safely, and understand the importance of productivity and teamwork. Our operations depend on skilled individuals who can move material efficiently while maintaining quality standards and supporting the broader goals of the yard. We provide an environment where hardworking employees can continue developing their skills, learn new equipment, and build long-term careers in the recycling industry.
If you're looking for a role where you'll spend most of your day operating equipment, staying active, and contributing directly to production, we'd like to hear from you. This is an opportunity to join a team that values skill, reliability, and people who take pride in their work.
