Job Title: Senior NetSuite Engineer
Location: Jacksonville Beach, FL (on-site)
Pay: $125,000-$140,000 per year
Company Information:
Athena Ag supports the modern grower at any scale. The company's operating philosophy is to improve quality, reduce costs, drive consistency, and make the complex simple through disciplined products, procedures, technical support, and hands-on facility guidance. We continue to invest in the people, systems, and technology that support our rapidly growing portfolio of products and brands.
About the Role:
Athena is seeking a Senior NetSuite Engineer to own and improve our NetSuite OneWorld environment, the operational backbone of our multi-subsidiary plant nutrients manufacturing business. You'll translate business needs into scalable solutions and directly build the scripts, configurations, and integrations needed to support them.
This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing and owns work from discovery through deployment and support. We're looking for someone who combines strong business judgment with hands-on technical depth and takes pride in delivering durable, well-documented solutions.
What You’ll Do:
-
Understand core ERP processes, gather complete requirements, and translate business problems into scalable NetSuite solutions
-
Design, test, and maintain SuiteScript 2.x solutions, including User Event, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, RESTlet, Suitelet, and Client Scripts
-
Maintain SuiteFlow workflows, custom records and fields, forms, roles and permissions, saved searches, and SuiteQL queries
-
Build, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations with Athena’s e-commerce, middleware, warehouse-management, tax, payment, and other business platforms
-
Manage sandbox-to-production testing and releases and monitor solutions after launch
-
Provide tier-2 and tier-3 ERP support and resolve issues through durable root-cause fixes
-
Identify process and system gaps and implement sustainable improvements
-
Create and maintain functional specifications, process flows, test plans, and technical documentation
-
Prioritize competing work, set realistic timelines, and proactively communicate status, risks, and blockers
-
Take ownership of outcomes from discovery through post-launch support
What We’re Looking For:
-
4+ years of hands-on NetSuite experience, including production SuiteScript 2.x development
-
Strong knowledge of NetSuite OneWorld and core ERP processes, including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, fulfillment, manufacturing and assembly, and financials
-
Advanced JavaScript and SuiteScript 2.x skills with working knowledge of SuiteFlow, SuiteQL, saved searches, custom records, roles, and permissions
-
Experience building and troubleshooting integrations using JSON, REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, and platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, or Workato
-
Experience leading requirements discussions and independently delivering NetSuite solutions
-
Strong communication, organization, solution-design, and root-cause problem-solving skills
-
Strongly Preferred
-
Multi-subsidiary NetSuite OneWorld experience
-
Manufacturing, inventory, or assembly-item experience
-
Experience with e-commerce, payment, warehouse-management, or tax integrations
-
Familiarity with WooCommerce, Shopify, RF-SMART, Avalara, Airtable, or Zendesk
-
Nice to Have
-
NetSuite certifications such as SuiteFoundation, Administrator, or SuiteCloud Developer
-
Experience with custom GL plug-ins, electronic invoicing and compliance, or international subsidiaries
Why Join Athena:
This is an opportunity to shape a business-critical NetSuite environment rather than simply process tickets. You'll work directly with teams across Athena, solve meaningful operational problems, and own solutions from initial discovery through delivery.
You'll join a collaborative team that values curiosity, accountability, clear communication, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement. The role offers broad exposure to ERP operations, integrations, manufacturing workflows, and the technology foundation supporting Athena's continued growth.
