Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including preparing the operating area and monitoring anesthesia using veterinary anesthesia monitoring equipment
- Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary laboratory techniques and equipment
- Handle animals safely and humanely, utilizing animal restraint techniques and animal husbandry knowledge to ensure stress-free procedures
- Conduct diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray imaging and radiology diagnostics, while maintaining aseptic technique
- Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or other routes, ensuring proper vascular access and medication protocols
- Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical & intensive care, animal catheterization, and assisting with veterinary critical care procedures
- Maintain accurate records using veterinary software, document procedures clearly, and communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions
Requirements
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy
- Kennel experience or pet care background is highly valued; familiarity with dog handling and animal restraint techniques is essential
- Hands-on experience with dental terminology, dental procedures, and dental equipment operation is preferred
- Knowledge of anesthesiology principles, general anesthesia management, and veterinary anesthesia monitoring techniques
- Laboratory experience including phlebotomy (blood collection), diagnostic testing, and laboratory diagnostics methods
- Ability to operate medical equipment such as radiology machines, laboratory analyzers, and anesthesia machines confidently
- Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate pet care advice

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
