Job Description:
The School of Professional Studies invites applications from qualified individuals to teach in the undergraduate Sociology program at the San Antonio Campus. Mapping the Social World course is scheduled to be taught on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in a traditional format.
Responsibilities: Prepare syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments, as appropriate to the course under the supervision of the department chair or program head director who will provide a sample syllabus and select the textbook(s) for the course. Must be available for individual student assistance (outside class time) at least one hour per week per section, and/or respond to telephone or electronic communication from students within 24-48 hours.
Job Requirements:
Minimum - Master's Degree in the specific field of Sociology or an approved equivalent degree in the social sciences. Applicants with a Master's degree in Geography will be considered.
Preferred - Doctoral degree in Sociology or related field. Knowledge and Experience in Geographic Information Systems are required.
