Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Has experience with cooking Mexican cuisine. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service excellence across various dining settings, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Manage food production processes, including preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and minimizing waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
- Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and culinary innovation to enhance dining offerings.
- Lead shift management responsibilities, including scheduling staff and managing operational issues during service hours.
- Oversee catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food for large groups.
- Monitor food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality control across all food service activities.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in culinary arts.
- Supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, menu planning, and kitchen management practices.
- Experience in banquet service, catering, or large-scale event food preparation is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively under pressure.
- Background in dietary department operations or specialized food handling is a plus.
