Duties
- Provide attentive patient observation and monitor vital signs regularly to track health status.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care needs through compassionate engagement and specialized techniques.
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information meticulously and maintain medical records.
- Use medical terminology confidently to communicate effectively with healthcare teams and document care activities.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and perform catheter care, hospice care support, and other specialized procedures.
- Conduct patient observations related to dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and hospice needs while ensuring safety at all times.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding assistance, laundry duties, cleaning tasks, and maintaining a hygienic environment.
- Support patients with disabilities or developmental challenges through personalized caregiving strategies in home or community settings.
- Follow all safety protocols during patient care activities including CPR certification requirements and infection control practices.
Experience
- Prior experience as a CNA in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities enhances your ability to deliver personalized care.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Proven ability to handle long-term care responsibilities such as laundry, cleaning, meal prep, and light housekeeping tasks.
