Overview
As a Residential Lawn Specialist Aerator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the health of residential lawns by performing aeration procedures that promote soil vitality and grass growth. This energetic position involves operating specialized equipment, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and applying your landscape maintenance expertise to deliver exceptional results for our clients. Your hands-on skills and attention to safety will ensure that each lawn receives top-quality care.
Duties
- Operate lawn aerators and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently to perforate soil, reducing compaction and encouraging healthy root growth
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, and planting to support overall lawn health and aesthetic appeal
- Identify different types of plants, weeds, pests, and diseases to determine appropriate treatment methods
- Use hand tools and power tools for soil preparation, planting, and landscape enhancements
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure team safety
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine inspections for proper functioning
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, or adjustments to optimize watering schedules
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping or grounds maintenance equipment including aerators, mowers, trimmers, and excavators
- Prior outdoor work experience in landscape maintenance or gardening environments
- Familiarity with plant identification, pest management, and horticultural practices
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and grounds equipment safely following established safety protocols
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting is a plus
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape projects is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with excellent teamwork skills; ability to follow instructions accurately
- Valid outdoor work experience demonstrating physical stamina and resilience in various weather conditions
