Silver Home Care is seeking an experienced Michigan Medicaid Billing & CHAMPS Specialist to support our rapidly growing Home Help Agency. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with Michigan Medicaid, MDHHS Home Help services, CHAMPS enrollment and maintenance, provider billing, claims resolution, and payer navigation.
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert and resource for both billing operations and Michigan Medicaid program requirements, helping ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance while supporting agency growth throughout the state.
Responsibilities
- Manage Michigan Medicaid billing and claims processes.
- Submit, track, reconcile, and resolve MDHHS Home Help claims.
- Work within CHAMPS to maintain provider enrollments, updates, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment issues.
- Coordinate with MDHHS, CHAMPS support, MCOs, and agency staff regarding billing concerns.
- Monitor payment activity and outstanding receivables.
- Assist with provider enrollment, revalidation, and credentialing processes.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and documentation requests.
- Develop billing workflows and internal procedures to improve collections.
- Train administrative staff on Michigan Medicaid billing processes.
- Serve as a resource for Home Help policy questions and operational guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Michigan Medicaid billing experience.
- Direct experience with MDHHS Home Help services preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of CHAMPS.
- Experience resolving Medicaid claim denials and payment issues.
- Understanding of Michigan Medicaid provider enrollment requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex billing issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a Home Help Agency.
- Experience with Molina, Humana, Aetna Better Health, or other Michigan Medicaid MCOs.
- Knowledge of EVV systems including HHAeXchange.
- Experience supporting agency start-up or expansion efforts.
Compensation
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
