Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator and Material Handler. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating heavy equipment, operating machines to alter product, and ensuring safe handling of goods throughout the warehousing process. Your expertise will help maintain seamless warehouse distribution, support shipping and receiving functions, and uphold safety standards in a VERY fast-paced environment. Duties
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using detailed paperwork.
- Manage inventory movement by loading and unloading trucks efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Operate a Holtec saw to properly and precisely cut materials.
- Assist in warehouse management tasks such as stock organization, cycle counting, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, preparing goods for dispatch, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Handle manual materials handling tasks involving heavy lifting and proper manual handling techniques to prevent injuries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of safety standards including OSHA regulations related to materials handling and equipment operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Warehouse experience with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes is highly preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is required; previous warehouse experience is a plus.
