Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including prenatal, gynecological, abdominal, breast, vascular, and echocardiography scans with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret imaging results and assist in diagnosis.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during all procedures to maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems efficiently for documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Educate patients about ultrasound procedures, addressing questions with clear communication skills to reduce anxiety and promote comfort.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles relevant to ultrasound imaging.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), breast ultrasound, or women's health diagnostics is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in vascular technology diagnostics, including vascular ultrasound imaging and general medical imaging techniques.
- Strong understanding of echocardiography procedures and cardiovascular anatomy for performing cardiac ultrasounds.
- Ability to operate various medical imaging equipment effectively while maintaining high standards of image quality.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing and retrieving diagnostic images.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to gynecology diagnostics, prenatal ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound, and women's health care.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients clearly and compassionately.
- Certification as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer from an accredited program is required; additional specialization in maternal-fetal medicine or vascular technology is a plus.
