Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to join our educational team, dedicated to fostering an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for children with diverse needs. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative curricula, managing classroom activities, and mentoring fellow educators. Your expertise will help empower students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with developmental delays, ensuring they receive the highest quality education tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs) and curriculum standards.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth, literacy, math skills, communication, and behavioral health.
- Implement evidence-based behavioral management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to integrate therapeutic goals into daily activities.
- Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Mentor and supervise teaching assistants and classroom staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality instruction.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student development, IEP goals, behavior management plans, and classroom activities in compliance with special education law.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or preschool settings, especially within special education or Montessori environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, literacy education, math instruction, and educational technology integration.
- Expertise in working with students with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques for students with behavioral health needs and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to develop engaging curriculum content tailored to diverse learning styles and individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring staff, collaborating with families, and advocating for students’ needs.
- Certification or training in speech therapy, behavioral health, or special education law is highly desirable.
- Degree in education courses. Or ECE credits
