Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and knives
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation for daily service or special catering events
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production
- Support the team in cleaning duties, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and waste disposal
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Experience with dietary department tasks or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Familiarity with culinary techniques, menu planning, and food industry best practices
