American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active IL licensure.

Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
-
Med/Surg unit with an average daily census of 21 patients
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals is required of all travelers
-
No on-call requirements
-
Charting via Cerner
-
Free parking available with a permit obtained during orientation

Scrubs: any solid color accepted

Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the application process with an ETA to apply will also be considered
-
BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required

Required clinical skills: blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, and PICC line management
-
IV therapy and phlebotomy experience required

Knowledge of isolation precautions required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to apply as a traveler

Travel pairs are not accepted

RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
