Position Summary
Greater Pacific is a dynamic, growth-focused promotional products company specializing in custom-manufactured imports sourced primarily from China. We bring creativity, quality, and speed to our clients across the country and we need an experienced logistics leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment to own our entire import supply chain.
The Import Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end coordination of international freight from factory floor to client delivery across the United States. This position demands deep expertise in U.S. Customs regulations, import compliance, and freight logistics, combined with the initiative and energy to continuously improve our processes. This is a fully in office position requiring exceptional self-management and communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Import Operations & Freight Management
▪ Manage the full import lifecycle for all ocean, air, and ground freight shipments from China and other international origins to U.S. destinations
▪ Coordinate with overseas factories, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers, and domestic carriers to ensure on-time, cost-efficient delivery
▪ Track and monitor all open shipments; proactively communicate status updates and exception reports to internal stakeholders
▪ Negotiate freight rates, carrier contracts, and service agreements to optimize cost and transit times
▪ Manage inland freight logistics including LTL, FTL, and last-mile delivery coordination
▪ Analyze freight trends and recommend cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service levels.
▪ Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve logistics workflows, enhance reporting, automate repetitive tasks, and increase operational efficiency.
U.S. Customs & Compliance
▪ Serve as internal subject matter expert on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, import requirements, and tariff classifications
▪ Ensure full compliance with HTS codes, country of origin rules, Section 301 tariffs, antidumping/countervailing duty requirements, and other applicable trade regulations
▪ Prepare, review, and submit accurate import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, CBP entry forms, and ISF (Importer Security Filing)
▪ Manage customs broker relationships; review and audit entry filings for accuracy and duty optimization
▪ Monitor regulatory changes from CBP, U.S. Trade Representative, and other agencies; implement procedural updates as needed
▪ Support trade compliance audits and maintain organized records in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirements
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
▪ Communicate packing, labeling, and documentation requirements clearly and consistently
▪ Review and approve factory documents to ensure compliance with U.S. import standards prior to shipment
▪ Coordinate reporting of product testing, certification, and regulatory requirements as applicable (e.g., CPSC, PROP 65, REACH)
Process Improvement & Reporting
▪ Develop and maintain logistics SOPs, routing guides, and compliance checklists
▪ Track key performance indicators including transit times, duty costs, freight spend, and delivery accuracy
▪ Generate regular reports for management on shipment status, cost variance, and supply chain risk
▪ Identify opportunities to reduce landed costs, improve transit times, and enhance vendor performance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field
▪ Minimum 5 years of direct experience managing imports from China, including end-to-end shipment coordination
▪ Deep, hands-on knowledge of U.S. Customs processes, CBP regulations, HTS classification, and tariff structures
▪ Proven import compliance experience including ISF filing, entry documentation, and duty management
▪ Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, NVOCCs, and domestic trucking providers
▪ Proficiency with logistics management systems, freight portals, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface across all levels of the organization and with international partners
▪ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States no sponsorship available
▪ Ability to work independently and thrive in a home-office environment without direct daily supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Experience in the promotional products, consumer goods, or custom manufacturing industry
▪ Familiarity with USA import tariffs and duty deferral strategies
▪ Experience managing LCL and FCL ocean freight, air freight, and domestic inland moves
▪ Knowledge of CPSC import safety requirements and product compliance standards
▪ Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or other trade compliance certification a plus
▪ Experience with ERP systems or supply chain platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTATIONS
▪ Location: Issaquah , Washington (In-office)
▪ Core business hours align with the West Coast time zone; flexibility to coordinate across time zones (including Asia) is expected
▪ High accountability role you will manage multiple active shipments simultaneously and must be detail-oriented and proactive
▪ Energetic, solutions-oriented mindset is essential our environment is fast-paced and entrepreneurial
▪ Regular video check-ins and reporting cadence with management team
