Qualifications
- AA degree or equivalent (students may apply)
- Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or social services preferred
- Ability to remain attentive, observant, and detail-oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive and compassionate attitude
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to handle medically involved tasks with responsibility and care (training provided)
- Ability to work with a service animal
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background and driving check
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with daily living activities including hygiene, meal preparation and service, and transportation.
- Maintain a positive environment that promotes independence and emotional well-being
- Use strong intuition and awareness to recognize subtle changes in behavior, mood, and health status.
- Assist with medically related tasks including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, documenting and communicating health information (as trained and authorized)
- Accurately and confidentially maintain records
- Ensure a safe and clean environment
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations

Summary
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. Reporting to a supervisor or program coordinator, you will monitor wellbeing, help with ADLs, facilitate community outings, and maintain a safe, clean living environment. Your role emphasizes patient observation, responsive communication, and collaborative care within supportive living settings. You will use strong caregiving skills, basic first aid, and reliable driving to support residents’ health, safety, and quality of life.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
