Sunday - Thursday, 10:45PM to 7:00AM, 3rd Shift
Summary
Works in tandem with extruder operator(s) within one of the three extrusion departments to ensure product specifications are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Orders raw materials, such as plastic resin and pigments, needed for the specified production job
- Calculates mix ratios and material requirements and makes necessary batches to ensure continuous flow of material throughout production run
- Verifies all mixes for accuracy and weighs all mixes when required to ensure the least amount of excessive (overmixed) extra mixes that have no immediate use
- Assists operators in purging machines in-between jobs
- Performs mix changes when needed
- Cleans equipment to eliminate contamination
- Assist operators in packaging, measuring, production of product and grinding scrap plastic
- Measures and records work piece specifications with a caliper, steel rule, scale and/or electronic rule to determine machine accuracy and product quality
- Performs major assembly and packaging, lifting, stacking, taping, identifying, and transporting product
- Package parts or make cartons per Shop Order specifications
- Cuts, trims, de-flashes, or otherwise finishes plastic extrusions using machines such as radial arm and miter saws, drill presses, punches, coilers, sealers, routers, CNC, etc.
- Positions work piece against stops or align layout marks with tooling die or blade
- Pushes buttons, pulls saws, depresses pedals, to activate work centers
- Removes burrs, dust, and sharp edges from work pieces
- Performs typical fabrication functions at the extrusion line

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
