Availability: Evening shifts required

Position Overview
Charles Evans Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Intake Coordinator to join our Behavioral Health team at our Glen Cove location. This role is ideal for a motivated behavioral health professional with experience in mental health and substance use services who is passionate about supporting individuals and families through the intake, assessment, and referral process.
Essential Functions
- Manage incoming referrals and inquiries through phone, fax, and online platforms while coordinating timely intake appointments and clinical assessments.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments, complete intake documentation in compliance with OASAS and/or MHOTRS requirements and determine appropriate treatment recommendations and level of care.
- Collaborate with clients, families, referral sources, and interdisciplinary teams to support care coordination, client assignment, and continuity of treatment services.
- Provide intake-related administrative support, including explaining financial responsibilities, managing required documentation, participating in case conferences, and performing additional clinical or program duties as needed.
Requirements
- LMSW or LMHC required, LCSW a plus
- Must be available to work evening shifts
- Knowledge in conducting assessments for Children and Youth 6+
- Background working in Mental Health and Substance use settings
- Prior experience with conducting assessment/intake/ triage in a behavioral health setting
- Skilled in providing excellent customer service
- Demonstrates strong independent and team collaboration skills
- Skilled in assessing mental health and substance use needs to determine the appropriate level of care and support for sustained recovery
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
