Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming 2026–27 season. This is a great opportunity for a motivated coach to contribute to a team with a bright future and help continue building the Abilene Basketball program!
Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletic & Activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork.

Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships, helping players grow not only as athletes but also as individuals.

Assisting in the instruction of basketball fundamentals, skills, and game strategy (X’s & O’s) necessary for program success.

Supporting the development and implementation of practice plans that are efficient and focused on skill development, basketball IQ, and game preparation.

Collaborating with the head coach and staff to support all aspects of the 9–12 program and help promote alignment with middle school and youth programs.

Being a positive, dependable member of the coaching staff while effectively supporting the vision and direction of the head coach.

Following the policies and guidelines set forth by KSHSAA, USD 435, and AHS.
