Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting medical professionals during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. This position requires a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
· Endoscopy experience required.
· Dependable and reliable work ethic.
· Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
· Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and medical instruments.
· Adhering to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment
· Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy.
· Properly assemble supplies and equipment required for endoscopic procedures.
· Safely and timely provide instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during endoscopic procedure.
· Maintaining an organized and clean working field.
· Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories in proper working order.
· Troubleshoots, recognizes malfunctions and reports to the proper authority.
· Properly clean and prepare endoscope for processing and transport to the decontamination areas.
· Ensure scopes are prepared for use in accordance with policies and procedures and manufacturer’s instructions for use.
· Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with team members.
· Perform post procedure cleaning, restocking, and preparation of the procedure room for subsequent patients or end of day closing.
· Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
· Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships.
· Maintain required endoscopic technician competencies.
· Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individual’s personal health information.
· Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, drills and in-service.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part Time MWF
