Lake Viking Marine – Parts Counter Associate / Parts Manager
Lake Viking Marine is the only full-service boat dealership in the Greater Kansas City area located directly on the water. We are a busy, established marine dealership with one of the region's leading full-service departments, and we're looking for the right person to join our team.
We are currently hiring for a full-time Parts Counter Associate or Parts Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Forecast parts needs and order parts to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Monitor current inventory and manage obsolete or slow-moving parts
- Receive, label, organize, and distribute parts promptly upon arrival
- Track outstanding orders, backorders, returns, and credits, and follow up as needed
- Price parts appropriately to maintain department profitability
- Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the correct parts
- Work closely with the service department to ensure parts are available for scheduled repair jobs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts department
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Cross-train in service writing
- Cross-train in warranty administration
- Assist with checking boats in for service
- Assist with boat movement, pickup, and delivery by land or water as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ year of parts department experience preferred
- 1+ year of supervisory or management experience preferred for Parts Manager candidates
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment required
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Boating and/or trailer towing experience preferred
- Experience with Lightspeed preferred
- Marine, automotive, powersports, or similar industry experience is a plus
