Responsibilities
- Safely operate shuttle buses, limousines, or other commercial vehicles to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other non-emergency destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the trip.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles, including routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure secure transportation at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
- Document trip details accurately in logs and reports for compliance and operational purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar commercial driving roles.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse passengers.
- Knowledge of paratransit operations and non-emergency medical transportation requirements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist passengers with mobility challenges.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance routines and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent driving record with experience in limousine or school bus driving preferred.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and respond to passenger needs promptly.
