We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of project planning, scheduling, resource management, and client communication. Your leadership will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards while leveraging cutting-edge construction management software and technical tools. Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, financial performance, and successful delivery of electrical construction projects. This role manages all phases of the project lifecycle including kickoff, scheduling, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, safety coordination, and client communication.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in electrical construction project management for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.
Key Responsibilities: Project Kickoff & Setup
- Review contract documents and compile project questions prior to kickoff meetings
- Verify estimating budgets within 30 days of kickoff
- Establish project setup and ensure all project documentation is properly filed
- Coordinate team roles and responsibilities
- Verify and analyze project schedules
- Review CBOM and manufacturing plans
- Verify and maintain current drawings and specifications, including all previous and bid-set versions
- Create and maintain:
- RFI logs
- Submittal logs
- Procurement logs
- Change order logs
- Issue tracking logs
- Establish and submit change order rates to clients
Weekly Responsibilities
- Maintain and process all change orders
- Coordinate pricing requests with estimating teams
- Manage and maintain RFI logs and workflows
- Ensure subcontractors receive all RFIs and updates
- Prepare, review, and track project submittals
- Coordinate all submittal revisions and distribution
- Respond to GC look-ahead schedules
- Provide weekly communication updates to General Contractors including:
- Change order logs
- Issue logs
- RFI logs
- Submittal logs
- Schedule narratives
- Create and review six-week schedules with foremen and superintendents
- Submit SimpleBuild orders in coordination with field and engineering teams
- Review daily job reports
- Review and approve:
- Unit reporting
- Field time entries
- Daily sign-in sheets
- Coordinate and monitor field safety deliverables
- Communicate delays, impacts, and project changes to GCs, vendors, and subcontractors
- Review labor reports with field leadership
- Coordinate manufacturing status and updates with SimpleBuild
- Conduct weekly safety job walks and ensure corrective actions are completed
Monthly Responsibilities
- Review Cost-to-Complete (CTC) reports
- Verify labor and material cost projections
- Review baseline schedules and identify impacts
- Submit change order budgets
- Coordinate monthly change order review meetings with GCs
- Manage project billing processes including:
- Draft billing reviews
- Vendor invoice approvals
- Subcontractor billing approvals
- Coordinate drawing updates with project engineers and field leadership
- Review procurement tracking and ensure logs remain current
Design-Build Responsibilities
- Manage design teams throughout project development
- Verify design alignment with project budgets
- Develop and maintain:
- Design issue logs
- Construction issue logs
- Coordinate estimating integration into design development
- Develop and manage project schedules
- Coordinate BIM and Revit design consistency
- Address plan check comments and code compliance requirements
- Ensure cross-trade coordination issues are resolved prior to final submission
- Finalize design/BIM deliverables for manufacturing release
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction project management experience preferred
- Electrical construction experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and procurement
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and billing processes
- Knowledge of NEC code and construction documentation preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and construction management platforms
