Atlanta Dental Wellness, the private, holistic dental practice of Dr. Cale Jackson, Associate Dentists Dr. Matthew Giordano and Dr. Simi Patel, and their long-term and highly skilled team, is seeking a permanent, full-time Dental Assistant to work Monday through Thursday. Atlanta Dental Wellness patients receive the highest standard of care coupled with a sense of genuine friendship. Due to the highly relational quality of our practice, many of our non-licensed staff did not have dental experience prior to joining our team. If you have career interest, passion to help others, people skills, and the right educational foundation, you are staged to master this technical and complex role.
Can you imagine yourself working as a dental assistant? Common tasks include:
- Greeting and seating patients; Conversing and creating meaningful relationships with others.
- Assisting Dr. Jackson (and occasionally Dr. Giordano and Dr. Patel) during treatment: Suctioning, passing instruments and materials, providing post operative instructions.
- Educating patients about treatment, post-operative, and preventive care.
- Providing expanded duty dental services as governed by the Georgia Board of Dentistry, including taking X-Rays and making dental impressions.
- Participating in continuing education programs.
- Manage inventory and laboratory processes.
- Managing dental instruments, setting up and breaking down rooms for procedures.
Do you match the criteria we are seeking?
- Preference to work in a true team setting that values diversity and inclusion.
- Customer service skills: Easily expresses empathy and professionalism.
- Hardwired to think ahead and anticipate the next step and the needs of the doctor.
- Excellent writing skills: Candidate must demonstrate excellent sentence structure, spelling, and accurate composition so that clinical notes describing patient services are charted accurately.
- Fast keyboarding and solid computer skills: Do consider yourself “software savvy?”
- Excellent hand-eye coordination: Can you manipulate small items with your hands at ease with arts and crafts, like threading a needle?
- Interest in dental anatomy and biology: Must like teeth!
- Excellent references: Stable, reliable, dependable.
- Able-bodied to comfortably and frequently maneuver a fast-paced working environment; if you consciously do NOT want a desk job, you are geared like a dental assistant.
- Education: Minimally, some college. BA/BS preferred. GAP year(s) aspiring dental students welcome! Graduates with degrees in biology, kinesiology, exercise science, health science often find their perfect fit careers in dental assisting.
