Position Summary
Colorado Injury is seeking an experienced, highly organized, bilingual Medical Assistant or LPN for our Colorado Springs clinic. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work directly with the physician in a fast-paced orthopedic and physical medicine setting.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in an orthopedic clinic, physical medicine and rehabilitation clinic, pain management clinic, or similar musculoskeletal injury practice. Experience with phlebotomy, office-based procedures, case management, medical records, and Athena EHR is strongly preferred.
This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable interacting with patients, physicians, referral sources, primary care offices, insurance adjusters, and case managers.
Key Responsibilities
Work directly with the physician during patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and clinical procedures.
Perform patient intakes, including history collection, injury details, medication review, prior treatment history, and symptom updates.
Assist with office-based procedures, including patient preparation, room setup, documentation support, and post-procedure instructions.
Perform phlebotomy and other clinical duties as needed.
Update patient charts, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure clinical information is complete and current.
Assist with ordering, tracking, and following up on referrals, imaging, specialist consultations, and outside medical records.
Obtain and organize medical records from hospitals, primary care physicians, specialists, imaging centers, physical therapy clinics, chiropractic offices, and other providers.
Schedule procedures, follow-up visits, imaging appointments, and specialist referrals.
Follow up with patients regarding treatment plans, appointments, procedure instructions, outstanding records, and ongoing care needs.
Assist with case management, including tracking patient progress, coordinating care, and communicating with attorneys, insurance adjusters, referral sources, and outside providers when appropriate.
Communicate professionally with primary care physicians, specialists, referral partners, insurance adjusters, case managers, and other parties involved in patient care.
Help maintain smooth daily clinic flow and support the physician, clinical team, and front office staff as needed.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, clinic policies, documentation standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
Medical Assistant certification, LPN license, or equivalent clinical experience required.
Minimum of five years of experience preferred in orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, personal injury, occupational medicine, or a related musculoskeletal clinic setting.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Experience with Athena EHR strongly preferred.
Experience with phlebotomy required.
Experience assisting with office procedures preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical records, referrals, imaging orders, specialist coordination, and patient follow-up.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, bilingual ability, and clinical skill set.
