Carolina Industrial Equipment (CIE) is seeking an experienced Equipment Mechanic to join our growing service team in Charlotte, NC. For more than 60 years, CIE has been a trusted partner to industrial and municipal customers across North and South Carolina, providing high-quality equipment and exceptional service.
In this role, you'll work on a diverse range of equipment both in our clean, modern 30,000-square-foot facility and at customer locations throughout the region. What You'll Work On
Our technicians service a wide variety of specialized equipment, including:
- Industrial floor sweepers and scrubbers
- Electric and gas-powered utility vehicles
- Municipal street sweepers
- Leaf collection and control equipment
- Sewer cleaning equipment
All service technicians receive factory training and ongoing opportunities to expand their technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and setup of new equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Accurately document findings and recommend repairs
- Complete work orders efficiently and professionally
- Perform preventive maintenance on customer equipment
- Repair vehicle body, chassis, and auxiliary systems
- Test equipment to ensure repairs are completed correctly and safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of mechanical repair experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Experience diagnosing and repairing DC electrical systems
- Experience working on gasoline, LP, and diesel-powered engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair
