Duties
- Lead and coordinate nursing staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and comprehensive physical examinations to inform treatment plans.
- Manage complex medical procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, and aseptic techniques with precision.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and documentation to optimize patient care continuity.
- Supervise medication administration, injection procedures, and pain management strategies aligned with best practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations in acute care environments like ICU or trauma centers, providing critical support and decision-making.
Skills
- Extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, ICU, or trauma medicine within Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Proficiency in advanced clinical skills including cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization and infectious disease care.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management.
- Skilled in working with individuals with disabilities, memory care needs, behavioral health challenges, and geriatric populations including long-term care and assisted living settings.
- Expertise in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and post-acute care environments.
- Ability to perform complex assessments involving anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, airway management, ventilator use, and sterile processing techniques.
