The 2nd Shift weld associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG and TIG process. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Functions:

Read job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements to determine layout and procedures with supervision

Determine the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements

Set up, adjust and operate equipment to fabricate parts to specifications

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards

Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion

Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions to weld structural metal to specifications

Inspect weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws

Tacks assemblies together

Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes

Identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials

Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner

Communicate with other departments as necessary

Keep work areas clean and organized

Adhere to all company rules and policies

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
